Like many of you, I’m in need of a great beach vacation. I was recently in the British Virgin Islands and cannot wait to return!
There is an exceptional property here owned by Richard Branson of the Virgin Group called Necker Island. It is a private island retreat that will have you wanting to come back each and every year.

There are so many activities ant not just the normal ones you would normally think of. From the sandy white beaches to the crystal clear water, there is an endless list of activities on Necker Island to keep you busy throughout your stay. Land-lovers can enjoy everything from yoga to tennis, or take to the waters and learn how to kitesurf with the friendly team of instructors. And when the sun goes down… the party starts.
Subwinging allows you to experience the ocean in a whole new way. Riders are towed behind a boat allowing you to turn and dive by holding onto the 4 foot carbon fiber wing. You can also do an island walk. The private island is 74 acres in size with a 3 mile perimeter. There are a number of trails on the north end of the island which will take you around the coast or over the main ridge. The staff can take you on a guided tour and share some interesting facts, or simply just point you in the right direction to brave it alone!
As if being on Necker wasn’t relaxing enough, the island also has the beautiful Samudra Spa treatment rooms, combining fabulous treatments with an incredible setting. They use the Aromatherapy Associates skincare range which is exclusive to the property. Yes the island is all-inclusive but there is an additional charge for spa treatments.
The nightlife is where it gets interesting though. From white parties to beach parties to Morocco nights, there are really great themes that will get you partying throughout the evening. Try the UV Night where the dress code is white for the night and dance the night away under the black lights wearing glow stick accessories!
Although it may be a while before I can officially visit, I can still dream about what a fabulous time I will have when I can someday get to experience this property first hand!
